Full Description

Zhongliao Village: A preserved Li ethnic village known for its traditional stilted wooden homes and rich intangible heritage. Visitors can experience authentic cultural crafts such as Li brocade weaving, coconut carving, and mountain wine brewing. A great starting point to understand the island’s indigenous identity and slower rural lifestyle.

Yazhou Ancient City: Dating back to the Han Dynasty, Yazhou is one of Hainan’s oldest administrative centers. Walk through ancient alleyways and explore well-preserved historical sites including Yazhou Confucian Temple, city walls, and the old government offices. Far from the crowds, this tranquil site offers deep insight into imperial governance and traditional Confucian education in China’s southern frontier.

Nanshan Scenic Area: Located at the southern tip of Sanya, this scenic coastal park is known for its dramatic stone formations, Taoist relics, and the famous “Longevity Southern Mountain” inscription. Once a retreat for poets and scholars, it blends striking natural beauty with centuries-old spiritual significance.

Sanya Natural History Museum: A modern, immersive museum focused on Hainan’s unique ecosystems. Learn about coral reefs, rare plants, and tropical rainforests through multimedia exhibits and interactive installations. Nanhai Guanyin: Standing 108 meters tall by the sea, the Nanhai Guanyin statue is one of the tallest representations of the Bodhisattva of Compassion in the world. With one face toward the land and two toward the ocean, it symbolizes peace, protection, and blessings for all beings. Set within the serene Nanshan Buddhist complex, the site offers visitors a tranquil experience of spiritual architecture, ocean vistas, and cultural depth.

Tianya Coastal Town: This vibrant seaside complex blends coastal charm with creative culture. Designed around the theme of “the edge of the world” (Tianya Haijiao), it features cafés, galleries, handicraft stores, and art installations.
